An all day power outage with 130 km/h winds and a whiteout blizzard, no heat in the house, means we bring out the camp stove and operate by fire...in the house. We got cozy, drank tea, and stayed warm. Picked up a couple new goodies this week. New @nikoncanada 10x42 binos and a @benchmadeknifecompany Steep Country knife. Both are razor sharp. Can't wait to get them out in the field. Remembering back to cleaning my first Kisik (seal skin). It was a difficult and kind of mesmerizing task. The kind that takes delicacy at some points but leaves your hands cramped and raw at other points. Thawed out some whitetail deer loin chops the other night. Zapped them in a hot skillet on both sides and then finished them in a 425 degree oven for not very long and ate them not very cooked. Tender as butter! In case there was any doubt about whether we have the most beautiful sunsets over here in Nunatsiavut. The kind of sunsets you never want to end, except that you know the sunrises will be just as stunning. Views over Rigolet today. Spectacular as always.
